Laketown Ministries

Laketown Ministries is an Outreach of Cotton Hill United Methodist Church.

The Resale Shop

One of our most visible efforts is the Resale Shop located on Stevenson Drive in Springfield near the Walgreens.  There we sell donated items at a very reasonable price in order to help those who are less fortunate clothe their families.   We also sell some furniture items, housewares, jewelry and books.  The store is also a place where people who need help can receive food assistance and counseling.

The LTM Resale Shop is  open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come see us soon!

If you are looking for a place to make a difference.  Laketown ministries can always use volunteers at the Resale Shop.  Please send the church an email at:  or stop at  the store and get a volunteer application.  We will be happy to talk to you about our current volunteer opportunities.

Laketown Ministries provides those who are in need with  bus passes and other financial aid to get them through times of immediate hardship. We support District 186  homeless student program.  We also partner with UIS Cares, a food pantry for students on the UIS campus.

We are sorry but because of the overwhelming demand we can no longer provide rent or utility assistance.  We also work with Springfield District 156 to provide needy children with clothes and food.
